Wind Tunnel Techniques is a comprehensive and practice-oriented textbook that provides a systematic understanding of experimental aerodynamics and wind tunnel testing methods. The book covers fundamental concepts such as flow similarity, non-dimensional parameters, and classification of wind tunnels, followed by detailed treatment of low-speed, high-speed, supersonic, and special-purpose wind tunnels. It emphasizes practical aspects of wind tunnel design, instrumentation, calibration methods, force and pressure measurements, and error and uncertainty analysis. Advanced experimental techniques including flow visualization, non-intrusive diagnostics, Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV), and image-based data reduction are explained in detail. The content integrates theoretical foundations with experimental procedures, supported by clear illustrations and worked examples. Structured to meet undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, the book also serves as a valuable reference for researchers and practicing engineers. It is an essential resource for those engaged in experimental aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, and aerospace testing applications.
