Aerodynamics II is an advanced academic textbook that provides a comprehensive understanding of compressible aerodynamics and its applications in aerospace engineering. The book focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of high-speed airflow and its behavior around aerodynamic bodies. It systematically explains the fundamental governing equations of compressible flow, including the continuity, momentum, energy, and state equations, which form the basis of gas dynamics. The text also explores important aerodynamic phenomena such as shock waves, expansion waves, Mach number effects, and the velocity of sound. In addition, it discusses one-dimensional compressible flow, supersonic flow theory, and the aerodynamic performance of nozzles and diffusers. Advanced topics such as the method of characteristics, transonic flow over wings, and aerodynamic forces including lift, drag, and pitching moment are also presented. The book integrates mathematical analysis, engineering principles, and illustrative diagrams to enhance conceptual understanding. It is structured to align with university curricula for aeronautical and aerospace engineering courses. Designed primarily for undergraduate and postgraduate students, the book also serves as a useful reference for researchers and professionals working in aerodynamics and fluid dynamics. Overall, Aerodynamics II aims to develop a strong theoretical foundation while highlighting the practical significance of aerodynamic principles in modern aircraft and high-speed transportation systems.
