The book Blockchain Technology offers a detailed introduction to one of the most powerful innovations of the digital era. It starts with the foundations of cryptography and distributed systems, gradually leading readers into the core principles of blockchain. It explains how data is stored in blocks, linked securely, and maintained across peer-to-peer networks, ensuring decentralization, immutability, and transparency. Concepts such as digital signatures, hashing, and consensus mechanisms are presented in a simple yet comprehensive manner. The book provides in-depth coverage of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, including mining processes, wallets, hard forks, and Ethereum’s ecosystem. It also explores advanced topics like the Ethereum Virtual Machine, Merkle trees, and blockchain’s impact on digital currencies. A dedicated section introduces Hyperledger frameworks and Solidity programming, showing how smart contracts can automate agreements and revolutionize industries. These technical insights are supported with practical coding concepts. Moving beyond theory, the book focuses on real-world applications in finance, supply chain management, healthcare, and governance. It highlights how blockchain enhances security, efficiency, and accountability across sectors. At the same time, it does not overlook challenges such as scalability, energy consumption, interoperability, and regulatory uncertainty. Readers are encouraged to critically evaluate both the strengths and limitations of blockchain. Future-oriented discussions highlight blockchain’s role in decentralized finance (DeFi), digital identity, Internet of Things (IoT), and new governance models. These forward-looking sections prepare readers for upcoming developments in the field. Illustrative examples, diagrams, and case studies make complex concepts easy to understand, ensuring that the text remains engaging and accessible to learners of all levels. Designed for students, educators, researchers, and professionals, this book bridges the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application. It provides both theoretical depth and practical clarity. Ultimately, Blockchain Technology presents blockchain not just as a technical system but as a socio-economic disruptor. It shows how the technology has the potential to reshape industries, institutions, and even the way society manages trust and value.
